The 7th Annual Lifting the Silence Memorial Walk & Ceremony in honour of World Suicide Prevention Day took place on Monday, September 10th at 7 pm.
The – CIVIC GARDENS Complex and the beautiful gardens located at 625 Springbank Drive was the backdrop for honouring those who have been lost to suicide.
This year’s theme All Together – Promoting Hope and Resilience in Families and Communities included:
- Dr. Paul Links, “National Suicide Prevention Strategy: Advocacy Still Needed”
- A special screening of Behind the Curtain: a short film documenting the legacy of two mothers who have lost adult children to suicide.
- Photo/Story Exhibit of local survivors of suicide that was first launched on September 10, 2011.
