PD Day 2017 – Postvention: A Community Response in the Aftermath of Suicide

This trauma informed workshop is intended to provide an overview of the grieving in the wake of a death by suicide.  Participants will learn:

• 1) Contemporary approaches to the grieving process
• 2) Understanding the effects of trauma
• 3) Exploring the unique features of suicide bereavement
• 4) Learn the compassionate formula for “healing in helping”

This workshop has been designed to highlight the unique features that occur when grief interacts with trauma.   Teachers, social workers, psychotherapists, clergy, child and youth workers and caregivers will be empowered with current knowledge and skills to support those who have experienced a traumatic loss.
